Support father after a tragic windstorm

Being an independent truck driver and owner had always been Abdihakim's dream. The most important benefit of owning a truck was the flexibility to be available to his wife and young, growing family: a two-year-old and a baby due soon. He saved for years knowing that he was investing for his family.
On July 1st, 2020, Abdihakim’s dream came true and he was able to purchase a semi-truck!. With registration and license, it would cost him $35,000. This would cost him his life savings but he was willing to risk every dime for a better future for his family and their opportunities. He paid off the truck in full and immediately insured the vehicle and requested the full insurance package no matter what the premium.
On September 8th, 2020, Abdihakim and his co-driver were passing Salt Lake City, Utah, when their tractor and trailer were among the 45 semi-trucks blown over by catastrophically high winds. The windstorm took everyone by surprise. After seeing the eye of the storm, Abdihakim’s co-driver halted but the winds did not let them escape. Minutes later they saw their lives flash past their eyes as the tractor-trailer rolled over. Abdihakim and his co-driver thought they would never see their families again. When the rolling came to a stop, they were grateful to have survived the incident.
The following day the insurance company did the usual checks after an incident. He received news that his truck had coverage but not damage coverage. The company denied there was collision coverage on his policy. They have documentation that he requested damage coverage, but because of the agents' lack of due diligence, that protection was not added to the policy. The truck towing fees would not even be taken care of.
Abdihakim was left in hopelessness and betrayed. He sought legal advice. The attorney confirmed the case is malpractice against the insurance company. But this case could go on for years. Abdihakim does not have years to leave his family in financial hardship. He also does not have the means to afford an attorney.
We are setting up this fund to assist Abdihakim and his family so he can get back on the road while they fight this dishonest insurance company for his due support.
Please donate all you can so Abdihakim can again support his family while he pursues justice.
The total fees for towing are $12,000 alone. A used semi-truck is around $28,000-$40,000.
