On September 13, 2025, passionate and self-driven entrepreneur, business owner, and community pillar was tragically and unexpectedly taken from us in a fire. You may have known him as Jermaine “Trigga” Doucet, but we knew him as our beloved cousin, uncle, brother, son, and father.
For years, Jermaine poured time, love, and energy into his community and customers. Without corporate safety nets or employer-sponsored health insurance, he self-insured knowing the value of personal responsibility. Prior to the fire, he was diagnosed with a heart condition which required hospital stays and ongoing treatment. The medical expenses depleted his savings and business reserves. As he often spoke of plans to replenish his savings, he was unable to before his passing.
Healthcare shouldn't bankrupt those who seek entrepreneurship in our communities. Jermaine’s story is a reminder of the challenges faced by self-employed individuals and small business owners who chase their dreams. If you’ve ever been inspired by Jermaine’s comedic spirit, indulged in one of his flavorful plate lunches, or simply want to support someone who shared his contagious personality with the world—this is your moment.
Your support will go directly toward:
Outstanding medical bills
Funeral expenses
Thank you in advance for your generosity and for taking the time to read Jermaine’s story. If you're able to donate—no matter the amount—please do. If you're unable to give right now, we would be grateful if you could share this fundraiser with others who might be able to help. If you're someone who believes in the power of prayer, please keep us in yours. That, too, is a gift we cherish.
