Support Farrah's Journey to Recovery

December 8th 2015 I adopted Farrah from the shelter, a baby pitty who just survived parvo and wanted a chance at a better life.

9 years later, she’s fighting for her life. On Friday December 20th she wasn’t herself, could barely walk, refused to eat, vomit piles out back. The next day 105.5 fever and a liter of fluid was given to her as we patiently wait for Valley Fever results we are told to take her home and monitor her fever and overall health. $750 vet visit. We didn’t sleep at all that night, watching her shivering in pain just praying for a positive change. Sunday she seems to be doing better, she ate her (new) boiled chicken and rice diet, she’s able to walk, fever has gone down and her temperature is 102.5. Monday December 23rd, I wake up and call the vet to update her on how my baby girl is doing, when i notice her eyes seem a little yellow… I roll her onto her back and her stomach is yellow all the way up to her armpits. Check her gums, they are still pink. Panic sets in, I call out of work and we bring her back to the vet. Within 30 minutes her gums are yellow and she can barely stand. After blood work has been done they tell us her liver is failing her and we don’t have a true answer as to why. +$900 vet visit. After more fluids, antibiotics and 4 hours of tears we finally get to kiss our babygirl again and take her home but the dreadful journey continues.

Unfortunately this will be a long one for Farrah.

This isn’t going to get better over night and we want to give her many more years of life to enjoy but we cannot afford the many more vet visits and medications that it will take to get her feeling better.
