On Tuesday, September 2nd, 2025, Farina Pasta Bar was broken into (updates will come as soon as we receive them), right after the Labor Day weekend. This beloved Philly mom-and-pop shop, owned by Chef Dan Lee - a veteran and Drexel graduate, and his wife Taylor - has always been more than just a restaurant. Dan and Taylor, who are new parents to a baby girl, have poured their hearts into building a space that brings people together and supports the local community.
Farina Pasta Bar is a true neighborhood staple. Over the years, Dan has partnered with local schools, supported other Black-owned and small-owned businesses, and created a welcoming spot for everyone. The break-in has left the business facing a significant loss of income, especially during the slow summer months when every sale counts. With fall typically being the busiest time of year, this setback comes at a critical moment for the family and the business.
The impact goes beyond the owners—Farina Pasta Bar is also home to a dedicated team of employees, many of whom rely on their jobs as their only source of income. These staff members are an essential part of the Farina family, working hard every day to make it possible to serve the community. Funds raised will help Dan, his family, and the entire team recover from several months of lost sales, allowing them to keep their doors open, pay their employees, and continue serving the neighborhood they love. Your support will make a real difference for a business that has always given back to others.
As the head of marketing for Farina Pasta Bar, being a part of this team has been nothing but an honor to work with Dan & Taylor, alongside watching them become new parents to their baby. I've seen them bend over backwards for the community, and right now they need the same help. Philly, it's time to come together and support our own!
