My name is Chantal, and I am Farid’s aunt. I am creating this GoFundMe to help Farid and his entire family as they face one of the hardest battles of their lives once again. Farid was diagnosed at just 5 years old with pineoblastoma, an extremely rare and aggressive grade 4 brain cancer. Since then, he has gone through multiple brain surgeries, proton radiation, and very intense chemotherapy treatments. After years of fighting, treatments, and prayers, the tumor disappeared, and for three years his MRIs remained clear. But recently, the family received the heartbreaking news they never imagined hearing again: the cancer has returned. Doctors found multiple new lesions in extremely delicate and inoperable areas of his brain, and Farid will now begin an aggressive rescue chemotherapy treatment.

Although the family has medical insurance, the medical expenses, copays, treatments, medications, travel, and hospital stays have continued to accumulate after so many years of battling this disease. The doctors have also been very clear about one thing: spending time with Farid, creating memories, and cherishing every possible moment with him. That is why we are asking for help. So his family can focus on being by his side, caring for him, and fighting for his life without financial worries taking away precious time or peace.
