My aunt, Fany Ocampo, has spent her entire life putting others first. She’s 63 years old, living in Colombia, and has been working nonstop since she was just 13. A few years ago, she opened a restaurant to support herself and her 17-year-old son’s education, with him helping in the business as well.

Despite all the challenges life has thrown her way, she has never stopped working—but now, she has no choice. She was recently diagnosed with a heart disease and has been hospitalized for two weeks, unable to move or earn an income. Her son is still attending school, and though he works, his wages are nowhere near enough to cover rent, food, transportation, and medical bills.

In Colombia, financial support is difficult—many people struggle to help even when they want to. My aunt has spent her entire life giving to others without expecting anything in return. Now, she’s the one in need. This fundraiser is our way of giving her the break she deserves and helping her get back on her feet.

Ayuda a una mujer que ha dado todo sin pedir nada a cambio

Mi tía, Fany, ha pasado toda su vida priorizando a los demás. Tiene 63 años, vive en Colombia y ha trabajado incansablemente desde que tenía solo 13 años. Hace unos años abrió un restaurante para poder mantenerse y pagar los estudios de su hijo de 17 años, quien también ayuda en el negocio.

A pesar de todas las dificultades que ha enfrentado, nunca ha dejado de luchar. Pero ahora, su cuerpo le ha puesto un alto. Recientemente fue diagnosticada con un enfermedad cardíaca y lleva dos semanas hospitalizada, sin poder moverse ni generar ingresos. Su hijo sigue estudiando, pero aunque trabaja, su salario no alcanza para cubrir la renta, la comida, el transporte y los gastos médicos.

En Colombia, la situación económica es complicada, y muchas veces ayudar es difícil aunque se quiera. Mi tía ha dado todo sin esperar nada a cambio, y ahora es ella quien necesita apoyo. Esta recaudación de fondos es nuestra oportunidad de devolverle un poco de todo el amor y sacrificio que ha ofrecido a los demás.
