Hello everyone!
I'm coming to you with a critical issue. As a lot of you know, our family has been struggling with homelessness for some time now. We've been clawing our way to normalcy for what seems like forever. And we've had huge help along the way... and right now, we need your help more than ever.
We started out living in the car. It was cramped and unpleasant, but we didn't have a choice. Eventually we worked our way up to be able to afford an RV. Much more comfortable, despite the fact that there is no water or electricity hooked up. After getting the RV, I also started a much better job. All we needed was a place to rest and start picking up the pieces. We were granted that by an amazing coworker and his father. They allowed us to park the RV on their land (for a small fee) so that we no longer had to worry and could focus on the more important things.
A couple weeks ago, a county worker forced his way onto the (private) property and told us that we can not live in the RV here. Because of "zoning". The county is going to fine the 80 year old man letting us stay here $100 a day if we aren't gone by the 4th of July. I am terrified because we truly have nowhere to go now.
Here's where there is a glimmer of hope: down the road is a house owned by a friend of the man letting us stay here. This house will be up for rent soon! We have spoken to him and it's looking good for us being able to move in! However it could be a month before the current tenants are out. The time between when we have to leave here, and when we would move into the house is where we need help. Because it is "illegal" to live in the RV, we will be back to living in the car. The next week or so will be 90 degrees plus... and I just don't know how we are going to do it.
I am asking for help with moving costs, and also help with putting us up in a motel until that time comes. Despite the circumstances, I feel like this could finally be our big break.
Thank you so much, from all of us.
