You never think it could happen to you. On Monday 7/7, I was woken up to my family screaming “WE HAVE TO GET OUT THE HOUSE NOW!”. I looked at my bedroom window, and all I could see was an orange light. I looked out to see my garage burning down. Thankfully, we all made it out of the house just to stand hopelessly watching the fire. Five fire trucks were here in less than five minutes and started putting out the fire.

The fire chief determined the fire was more than likely caused by a firecracker, which made its way into the garage and was smoldering until it ignited into the fire. As you see, two cars were totaled, and of course, the garage is a loss.

On February 22nd of this year, I had a heart attack, and due to other medical issues—MS, Lupus, and diabetes—I have not been able to return to work. Fortunately, we have insurance, but there were so many items that I do not have proof of purchase for and will not be reimbursed. My finances have depleted. I was driving for Uber, but lately, I have had complications with my health that have prevented me from driving. Due to the fire, I have lost all of my gardening tools, many storage bins of clothing, my grandchildren’s bikes, my bike, and so much more that I financially cannot replace. Not to mention the stray cats that have been taking shelter in my garage for years.

My car's back end was severely heat damaged, and my rental, when I put the car in the shop, only covers $25.00 day, not to mention my high deductible.

I AM DESPERATELY IN NEED OF FINANCIAL SUPPORT.

Funds will be used to replace my grandchildren’s bicycles, car 1,000 deductible gardening equipment, BBQ grill, lawnmower
patio chairs these are just some of the items (except car deductible) that were destroyed in the fire.
If you can help please with financial support, I will be forever grateful. I have become very emotional every time I look at the damage it will be a week tomorrow and nothing has been cleared yet. To see my garage with all the melted down items especially my daughter’s SUV which is burnt from the headlights all the way to the windshield brings me to tears. I keep telling myself it could have been worse, and Thank God no one was hurt brings some relief those thoughts help for a while but then I’m back to shaking my head. The cause as far as I know is that a firecracker smoldering which eventually caused the fire. And the neighbors on the street behind me are still setting off fireworks.
