Support family in loving memory of Eric Hakizimana

Donation protected
We* are raising money to support the family of Eric Hakizimana, who passed away on May 25, 2020 in a tragic shooting incident on his way home from soccer practice.

Eric's family arrived in the United States in 2018. Eric was a student at Thomas Jefferson Newcomers Academy in Cleveland Ohio where he was loved by all of his teachers for his loving and charming character.

Eric loved playing soccer and singing in church. He also played keyboard and set up all of the instruments for his church band. He loved his family and was loved dearly by his community, including the church community. Although his life ended too soon, his memory will live on by all whose lives were touched by him.

The money requested by Eric's family is for the following items:

1) $3,500 to cover rent and utility bills so that Eric's parents may grieve from home, and not worry about these living expenses.
2) $7,000 for a used car; the family is seeking a new car that does not cause trauma.

The money from this fundraiser will go directly to Eric's mother, Dianah, and father, Munyazesa.

*This fundraising page was set up by Pastor Hakizamana Muvunye and community leaders Joel Mucheke and Phabian Kamasa, with the help of The Refugee Response, a local nonprofit organization. The page was created with Eric's immediate family members, including his mother, father, aunt and uncle.

Thank you for your support during this difficult time.
