Family Game Knight needs your help! Our hobby shop and arcade is spread across two buildings located side by side. Our landlord that owns the arcade building has recently contacted us to let us know that they want to move forward with selling the building and are giving us until the end of March to secure the funding and close on the building before they put it on the market.

Family Game Knight started in the basement of my house in 2020, originally known as "Reedesign," where I did a small amount of graphic design and sold 3D printed items on Etsy. Eventually, the success of the business led to the ability to form a retail location, which is when Family Game Knight came to be. Our doors officially opened on April 4th, 2022, and we started out slow with some major challenges to overcome, but we have always had consistent growth. The whole goal of the business has always been to provide an environment for people of all ages to come together for entertainment and socialization.

We have seen massive growth year to year, and it has been a challenge to keep up with the expansion, but we have been able to do so by partnering up with some short-term business lenders for additional capital to meet the demands of our community. This has unfortunately put us in what seems like an infinite loop or revolving door of us almost getting our loan paid off but having to immediately renew our contract and get another loan to make up for the predatory interest amounts that these companies implement. I don't take anything but the bare minimum for myself and invest everything else back into the business, so this hasn't been a major concern in the past, but now that we have been given this deadline, we are in desperate need to break out of this cycle and go through a private lender to secure a single long-term loan with a non-predatory interest rate to work with us. This will also allow us to hire additional help and provide new jobs to the area.

We are happy to be completely transparent about our funds and where all of the money is going. Our first priority is securing the properties we currently occupy and then expanding our operations by hiring additional staff to run our concessions and online sales channels. The more we are able to raise, the more confidence our lenders will have in their investment. We are counting on the community to band together and help Family Game Knight continue to grow and expand.
