Support für die Schmolka Familie nach Palisades Fire

Mittwoch Vormittag in Deutschland lesen meine Kolleginnen und ich, dass ein Feuer in den Palisades ausgebrochen ist. In Kontakt mit unserer lieben Kollegin Katja die in LA mit ihrer Familie ihr Leben in den Palisades aufgebaut hat, hören wir dass es ihr gut geht aber sie dem Feuer gerade so entkommen sind.

Ihre zwei Söhne und meine guten Freunde, die noch zuhause waren, hatten keine Zeit ihr Hab und Gut zu retten und mussten ohne alles aus dem Haus fliehen mit ihrem Hund in ihren Armen. Keine Dokumente, keine Klamotten, alles von Wert und sentimentalen Wert musste hinter sich gelassen werden. Nach Meilen langem Marsch zu ihrer Mutter, wegen Evakuierung und Straßen Blockaden, waren sie wieder vereint und konnten für ein paar Nächte sicher in einem Hotel in Santa Monica unterkommen.

Heute konnten sie endlich, mit Reporten von Pro7, die Runen ihres Familienhauses besuchen, der Welt berichten und ihr Schicksal teilen.

Hier aus Deutschland und über den großen Teich fühlen wir uns bei solchen plötzlichen Katastrophen oft hilflos wenn wir helfen wollen, aber nicht wissen wie wir unterstützen können. Geldspenden sind momentan die beste Unterstützung aus Europa!

Ich bin vor ein paar Wochen noch durch diese wunderschöne Palisades Gegend gefahren und habe diese Gemeinschaft, diese Stadt und die Familie Schmolka tief in mein Herz geschlossen. The Palisades Fire in Los Angeles has left our close family friends The Schmolkas, with nothing. In the chaos of escaping the flames, they had no time to grab even the essentials. They lost their home, their belongings, all their personal documents and anything of sentimental value, like so many others - everything they had has been reduced to ashes.

The three of them, along with their dog, managed to escape safely after a traumatizing state of evacuation and are currently staying in a hotel room in Santa Monica. However, they urgently need a more stable place to stay and support to begin rebuilding their lives from scratch.

We want to support them during this unimaginably difficult time. Your donations will help cover their immediate needs, such as securing temporary housing, purchasing clothing, replacing essential items, and eventually starting to rebuild their lives. All the money raised will go directly to The Schmolka family to help them get back on their feet.

No one should have to face this alone. Every contribution, no matter the size, will provide them with the hope and support they need to take their first steps forward.
