Hey y'all.
As some of you may know, I had what I thought was a simple back sprain turn into a full-fledged hospitalization recently.
There were two 3-inch abscesses found near my spine, I turned septic and my kidneys began to shut down. I was admitted to IU Health hospital and kept there for 9 days.
Nine days of every test, fluid and poke imaginable, all while my children couldn't visit.
My strong husband held the fort down, getting our kids to school and working full-time, while the dedicated medical staff helped me heal up enough to go home.
Now healing at home, I am finding myself unable to do basic tasks like cooking/cleaning that require me to stand for more than 10 minutes at a time.
I still have a drain/port sutured into my spine and an IV in my neck (that requires self administering antibiotics every 8 hours) for the next several weeks. I am very weak in one leg/hip especially and was told I'm not allowed to drive.
This to say, taking care of my children is considerably harder than it used to be for me.
My sister Jordan offered to fly in from Oregon for a week (next week) but plane tickets are unreasonable as it is Spring Break time. Which also means my kids are home all day without school to feed them twice.
We are hoping for some help with the ticket costs.
I have $100 out of the $300 (plus bag) needed already.
If you can even forgo tomorrow's coffee and donate 5 bucks, I'd be forever grateful!
❤️
