Support Families in Córdoba's Flood Crisis

Donation protected
My hometown, Montería, and 24 municipalities in Córdoba, Colombia are facing one of the most painful humanitarian crises in recent years. The rain has not stopped since February 6th causing floodwaters over entire communities in our department. Today, 80% of Córdoba’s territory is underwater. And thousands of families (with low income) have lost their belongings, animals, harvest, and the security of having a place to live and sleep peacefully. The situation has become so severe that schools have been closed and turned into emergency shelters, many of which are already near capacity. Babies, pregnant women, elderly people, and entire families are living there, while others are still waiting to be evacuated. Animals are also dying due to the floods. This tragedy does not end when the water recedes. The hardest part comes afterward: many families will have no beds, no mattresses, and no homes to return to. That is why, in addition to food, we are focusing on providing beds, mattresses, and essential supplies so families can rest with dignity. My husband and I live far away, but we refuse to look away. We are praying for our homeland, but we are also taking action. We are donating, mobilizing people, and working closely with trusted local teams to ensure that all aid reaches those who need it most. All updates, transparency, and proof of the aid will be shared on our Instagram account @palabraparami. If you are reading this from the United States or another country, please know that your help truly matters. Even one dollar can mean food, warmth, or rest for a family that has lost everything. Thank you for being a light in the midst of darkness. We believe that faith without action is incomplete, and today we choose to love through action. Fund Transparency & Distribution All funds raised will be withdrawn by me, Yendy Tapia, into my personal bank account in the United States. My husband and I oversee the management of these funds. We are working directly with trusted local contacts in Montería and surrounding municipalities to purchase and distribute essential supplies such as food, water, hygiene kits, beds, and mattresses. In urgent cases, limited direct financial assistance may also be provided based on verified need. Aid distribution is ongoing and will continue in the coming weeks as funds become available. We are committed to full transparency and will continue sharing updates.
