Hi, I'm Jennifer Berkemeier, founder of Avek Ou. Welcome to Startup Haiti.

I and our Board of Directors (Amanda, Joelle, Kelly, Beverly, Kris, and Amy) are raising funds to empower at-risk families in Haiti. This June, Avek Ou aims to make a HUGE impact at our home for families in Haiti by providing them with seed money to launch their entrepreneurial startups.

They've got the drive; they just need the tools to get started.

Why do they want this? It's all about their children. They want to send their children to school. They want their children to be safe. They want a better future for their children.

Your generous donation of $15 or more will purchase the necessary startup seed tools to get them started: farming tools for our husband and wife farmers; a coffee grinder; marketplace items for our cook; high-quality fabrics for our marketplace saleswoman.

Every $15 counts and pushes us closer to our goal of empowering all three families on this first big step to independence.
