Watching what ICE has been doing to the families I work with is breaking my heart. Kids as young as 6 are openly explaining during our group time how scared they are to leave their homes. One little girl told me they need to keep their lights off so the bad guys don't take them away. These kids are not criminals; I highly doubt their parents are either.

The parents of one family I work with are too scared to go to work and asked if I knew about rent assistance so they could stay in their apartment. Our family support worker sadly told me that most of these resources are tapped out. I know I have people around me who have big hearts and a little money to share.
