Help Families After Weather Crisis
Donation protected
Hola! My name is Gloriana Benavides, and I am writing to share with you the critical situation my family is currently facing in Costa Rica. Due to severe weather conditions, a tropical storm in June caused significant damage to our land, leading to the collapse of part of it and affecting a neighbor’s house, putting them in immense danger. This land has been in my family for generations, and it holds immense sentimental and practical value for us.
My great-uncle farmed this land all his life, cultivating coffee and bananas. It is a “green desert” surrounded by residential areas, where flora and fauna still enjoy their natural habitat. My grandfather, who recently passed away, always emphasized the importance of preserving this land, and my parents inherited it with the same dedication.
I moved to the United States with the goal of obtaining my pharmacy license to better support my family. Over the past four years, I have worked diligently as an Advocate and Pharmacy Technician at a Charitable Pharmacy. However, only four weeks after the land collapsed, I was notified by the National Association Board of Pharmacy that my pharmacy license certification process was denied. This denial has placed me on a steep path and difficult circumstances, but I remain hopeful.
I am reaching out to you in the hope that you can provide financial assistance to help us start the reconstruction of the land and the neighbor’s house. Your support will not only help us restore our property but also give back to our neighbors, allowing them to live in a secure house, and honor the legacy of my great-uncle who dedicated his life to this land.
Your generosity would mean the world to us and would help us preserve a piece of our family’s heritage and ensure the safety of our community. Thank you for considering our request.
