Support Families After Tragic Loss of Three Loved Ones

What should have been a joyful return home from a summer adventure has turned into a devastating tragedy. Our dear friend and colleague, Tara, is grieving the unimaginable loss of her son, her nephew, and her brother — all taken far too soon in a tragic car accident caused by an alleged drunk driver.

Britton, a devoted middle school teacher with Wichita Public Schools, took his 19-year-old son Arlo, an aspiring master diver and 16-year-old nephew Silas on a summer trip to New Orleans, Florida, and Tennessee. Their journey was filled with excitement, diving, and a float trip — memories they hoped to share with their loved ones back home.

On their way back, their lives were tragically cut short.

Britton leaves behind two other children who are now facing life without their father. Silas, the second oldest of eight siblings, leaves a tremendous hole in a large and loving family. The loss of Arlo, a bright young man with an infectious giggle and a future full of dreams, has devastated his mother, big sister, and big brother.

Plans are being made to honor all three of these incredible lives with a joint funeral — a chance for the community to come together in love, grief, and remembrance.
