I am so excited to share that I will be competing in the Miss Houston USA pageant this April!
It is my lifelong dream to proudly represent our great state of Texas on that Miss USA stage and this opportunity is the first step in getting there!
This dream of mine has been in the making since I was a little girl.
I started competing in pageants when I was just three years old! I can proudly say I attribute my confidence today to pageantry through the personal development and self-empowerment it fosters, that continues to grow each year I step on the stage.
I cherish the perseverance and resilience I have gained over the years, continually learning more about myself and how I can become my best version; illuminating the unique traits and strengths God instilled within me… and others I worked hard to create for myself.
Each year I return is another opportunity to grow in who I am and expand my mission to others.
If you are an outsider looking inward on this pageant world, you may only see sparkly dresses and crowns, but there is such a greater, bigger purpose at work
in this passion of mine.
Pageants celebrate the well-rounded woman--a woman is no one thing. We can be strong leaders in our community, yet lead with poise, grace and femininity. We are warriors through our adversities, but can show delicacy and tenderness for those around us.
I greatly value the discipline and commitment to my physical health garnered from pageants encouraging others to work towards their strongest minds and bodies; I am honored to be able to motivate my Tanglewood community as a fitness coach.
We are interviewed about our career goals, academic scholarship and professional personal accomplishments, like a grueling job interview...just in a snappier ensemble. This showcases our ambition, drive and dedication to scholarship and the workforce.
The most important part of pageantry, is in the way we give back to our communities.
I am so passionate about my work with individuals with special needs--with organizations like Miss Amazing (a pageant for women with different abilities), Everybody Belongs Club, Bloom Fitness, and the Special Olympics--as well as my advocacy platform, creating a voice for those who grew up facing similar trauma to myself as a childhood SA survivor with organizations like RAINN.
I share all of this with you today, because I value YOU immensely in my life and couldn't do this without you!
Whether you are a friend, family member, client I get to work with every day, or mentor of mine, you have made a difference in my life and I cannot thank you enough!
