Hello, my name is Faith. I am a substitute teacher and have two children. I have recently experienced domestic violence. I pressed charges on my husband in the beginning of October to save the lives of me and my children. We are safe for now, but leaving came at a cost I didn't expect. My husband cleared out our joint bank account and left me with rent unpaid as well as late/unpaid bills. I had been on medical leave for over a year after brain surgery in May 2024 and a recent abdominal surgery the middle of September 2025. I was just released back to work October 15 and have been working almost every day to make ends meet. It's been a huge struggle, but I am slowly catching up. A deal was made with my husband to pay the rent, and he did not appear at our eviction hearing subsequently making us delinquent on any and all repayment. The total cost to save us from eviction is now $2,667, the first part ($1,667) by January 2, the last part ($1,000) by January 15. This whole situation has left me and my babies in the hole quite a bit and now we are being evicted. By the grace of god the community has helped with the first portion and helped us to keep the roof over our heads for the holidays. I am not the kind of person who asks for help, but I am absolutely stuck and cannot figure this out on my own. I need help just catching up on the back rent, so me and my babies can stay in our home. These past two months have been the hardest of my life, but It's worth it knowing we got out alive. On top of everything else, I am also dealing with a terrible concussion now as well after falling on black ice last week outside my apartment door, and cannot work the rest of December. Please help if you can, share if that's all your able to do. I am truly asking the community to pull together to help out a well known and loved employee. Thank you all
