My cat Faith was hospitalized due to complications relating to diabetes. A few hours after arriving at the emergency vet, she unexpectedly went into cardiac arrest for the second time in her life and for the second time was resuscitated through CPR. This raised her care needs and the time she is expected to spend hospitalized, and as a result raised the cost estimate considerably. I’ve had to deal with multiple vet emergencies over the past couple years — from her and other animals — and still have not been able to financially recover. I put all of my emergency vet funds into this and am about to dip into my backup savings for rent savings.
