My partner and I were the victims of a violent hate crime in May 2025 in Corbin KY by some seemingly nice strangers. I am happy and lucky to be alive.

WHAT HAPPENED: I was called a racial slur and then punched in the face by a man named Travis Blackwood. I was then grabbed by his girlfriend Amber Bingham, dragged to the ground and held while he sat on top of me and punched me in the face until I was unconscious.

I suffered extensive injuries that I am still healing from: a broken nose, a concussion, lacerations to my inner ear canal, and cracked teeth. They both fled the scene of the crime and absconded to Florida, where they committed the same kind of crime.

Since then, I have been in constant contact with lawyers, the police, private detectives, and the state attorneys in both states in the attempt to bring them to justice.

It has been a long tough journey just to get any traction from local police and the commonwealth against these two people. I fought hard to get to this point not just for justice for myself but for everyone who has come forward and shared their stories of abuse and assault at his hands.

But Now.

I officially have the case Commonwealth vs. Travis Blackwood on the docket. He will have to face two cases one for me and one for my partner.

I am raising funds for my medical bills that are down to around $9,000 since May 2025 (my ambulance ride and treatment). As well as travel expenses that we'll have to spend going back and forth from Lexington to Williamsburg, KY (total 202 mile trip).
