Support Faidith with her medical treatment!!

Let’s work together to support Faidith Bracho, a Colombian biologist who recently was awarded a Fulbright scholarship to do her PhD studies in United States. However, Faidith has not been able to accept the scholarship because her health has been deteriorating in the last few years. Faidith was diagnosed with cervical myelopathy, thoracic spinal cord thinning as a result of neuromyelitis, hypergammaglobulinemia and nodules in her lungs. These health issues have impaired her to continue working and supporting her family because she cannot walk and the pain is unbearable. She has been under medical treatment, but this has not worked and her health is getting worst.

 

Faidith is 32 years old, she supports her mother and younger sister, but with her current condition, she has not been able to work. However, there is an alternative procedure called chelation and neural therapy that helps to repolarized cell membranes and ease the pain, but this is not covered by the health system in Colombia. She does not have any financial support and the treatment is expensive. The cost of the full therapy is $7000 USD, which includes the transportation to the medical centre.

Trabajemos juntos para apoyar a Faidith Bracho, una bióloga colombiana que ha recibido una beca Fulbright para hacer sus estudios de doctorado en Estados Unidos. Sin embargo, Faidith no ha podido aceptar la beca porque su salud se ha venido deteriorando en los últimos años. Faidith fue diagnosticada con una mielopatía cervical, adelgazamiento del cordón en la columna dorsal (como resultado de una neuromielitis), presenta un nódulo en los pulmones y hipergammaglobulinemia. Todas estas afecciones han impedido a Faidith continuar trabajando y apoyar a su familia, dado que no su movilidad se ha reducido (no puede caminar) y el dolor es intolerable. Ella ha estado con tratamiento médico, pero no ha funcionado y su salud se ha venido deteriorando más.

 

Faidith tiene 32 años, ella es quien apoya económicamente a su mamá y hermana menor, pero dada su condición no ha podido trabajar. Sin embargo, existe un tratamiento alternativo llamado terapia neural y de quelación, que permite repolarizar la membrana de las células e ir normalizando el procesamiento del dolor, pero este tratamiento no lo cubre el sistema de salud de Colombia. Faidith no tiene ningún apoyo económico y el tratamiento es costoso. El costo del tratamiento es $ 7000 USD el cual incluye el transporte al centro médico.
