Fabio and Emily Duerr are a darling young couple who were stunned to receive tragic news that Fabio has been diagnosed with an extremely rare and aggressive metastatic form of cancer. They have only been married for five and a half years, and their love for each other shines through in everything they do. Emily is an extremely well-liked visual arts educator at Sage International School in Boise, inspiring her students with creativity and kindness. Fabio, originally from Switzerland, came to the United States in 2018 after learning English in New Zealand, determined to follow his lifelong dream of becoming a pilot. His journey has been marked by determination, resilience, and countless hours of training and dedication. Through perseverance, he earned his place as a skilled pilot of King Air charter flights, and in the summer, he helps fight forest fires from the air, using his expertise to protect communities and natural landscapes. Along the way, Fabio met Emily, and together they built a life filled with adventure, creativity, and love. They enjoy exploring nature on bikes, kayaks, or on foot, and find joy in being creative together with pottery or paint. Surrounded by loving parents, family members, and dear friends, Emily and Fabio have always been there for others, offering support and encouragement whenever it was needed. Now, as they face this unimaginable challenge, they need our help more than ever. Fabio is currently undergoing trial therapies and treatment in hopes of slowing the cancer and granting him the best quality and quantity of life possible.
