Hi everyone. I decided to make a gofundme account for my son Ezra. On February 4th, 2025 Ezra was diagnosed with stage M or stage 4 neuroblastoma which is a rare childhood cancer. I’m going to post our story below. Know that we are so grateful for any love, support, and generosity.
Sydni and Sky met in Middle School and started dating their Junior year of High School in 2016, they are your storybook High School SweetHearts. In 2019, Sky enlisted in the military and left for bootcamp in 2020. During this time, Sydni and Sky got married and moved to Hawaii together where Sky got stationed. Sky has continually served our country and has been on two deployments to Japan in 2020-2021 and 2022-2023. While Sky was away, Sydni was in Hawaii working at the local hospital and continuing her degree in Nursing. Once Sky was back home they decided to start growing their family. Sydni and Sky had a difficult time conceiving, Sydni had to go to a fertility doctor to try to help. After 2 long years, Sydni and Sky finally got pregnant with their precious baby. They thought they had gotten past the rough part but Sydni ended up having a very high risk pregnancy. After seeing multiple doctors during this time, Sydni was induced at 37 weeks due to health reasons. Sydni and Sky finally welcomed their sweet baby boy Ezra to the world. As soon as he was delivered, Ezra had to be rushed to the NICU with hypoglycemia and jaundice and had to stay there for 36 long hours. When Ezra was 3 months old, Sydni and Sky found out that he had hydronephrosis, which is extra fluid in his kidney. This was located in his left kidney and got progressively worse. He has multiple scans and sedated procedures. Due to this, there was a conversation about possible surgery once Ezra was a year and half old. Once Sydni and Sky finally thought they had a break from the madness, they received unthinkable news. Ezra, 11 months old, became jaundiced. He was sent to Levine’s Children’s Hospital where he was admitted for further testing. After multiple scans, it was discovered that Ezra has a mass in his abdomen. Ezra had to undergo ultrasounds, MRI, which required anesthesia, CT scan, and an exploratory laparotomy with biopsy surgery to get a better look at the mass. The pathology report came back as a Neuroblastoma, which is a rare form of cancer, with the stage currently unknown. Sydni and Sky are still awaiting some tests that will tell him what stage the cancer is. During this excruciating time, Sydni is currently driving back and forth from Levine’s Children’s Hospital taking Ezra to his appointments. Sky is away from his family at schooling for the military desperately trying to get home to his family. Since being in the hospital the doctors had to place a percutaneous drain coming from his liver to help drain the extra bilirubin in his liver. They are currently unsure when they’re going to be able to remove this drain tube. He’s in a lot of pain from the tube but they’re trying to get that under control. They also had to start his first round of chemotherapy which he has successfully completed. This cycle of chemo was definitely hard on his little body but he’s a trooper and is starting the recovery process until his next cycle start. He’s also had endless fluids and a blood transfusion. All of these things are helping him feel, sound, and look much better! We have since then been in the hospital for over two weeks with an additional 2-3 weeks added on to this stay. He’s had endless blood transfusions, platelet transfusions, as well as endless sedated procedures. Ezra is currently dealing with a blood infection that is being treated. We’re hoping to be reunited as a family back with his dad very soon.
Please pray for sweer boy Ezra, Sydni and Sky! And please share share share this story! This family deserves a army behind them! #Ezra’sArmy
