Hi Everyone -

We never imagined we’d be writing this, but life can change in an instant. Recently our brother had a devastating accident that turned our world upside down. He fell from a set of unfinished stairs on the second floor and landed on something sharp that pierced the middle of his back. The injury was severe — he suffered multiple fractures in his spine, and bone fragments pressed back into his spinal canal, severely bruising the spinal cord in the T8 area.

He underwent emergency surgery where they removed the bone fragments to relieve the pressure off of his spinal cord but right now he is paralyzed from the waist down. We’re holding onto hope, but we know this is going to be a long, difficult road of intensive rehabilitation and therapy.

If you know my brother, you’ve felt the depth of his friendship, kindness, and boundless generosity. He is someone who is passionate about life, the arts, and living deeply. Whether you know him, know of him or know his music, we ask that you keep him in your thoughts as he faces this tough journey physically and mentally.

Nunca imaginamos que estaríamos escribiendo esto, pero la vida puede cambiar en un instante. Recientemente, nuestro hermano Ezequiel tuvo un accidente devastador que cambió nuestro mundo por completo. Se cayó de unas escaleras qué estaban sin terminar desde el segundo piso y calló sobre algo filoso. La lesión fue grave: sufrió múltiples fracturas en la columna vertebral, y fragmentos de hueso presionaron su canal espinal, causando un moretón severo alrededor de la médula espinal en el área T8.

Tuvo una cirugía de emergencia pocas horas después del accidente en donde le quitaron los fragmentos de hueso para aliviar la presión sobre su médula espinal, pero en este momento está paralizado de la cintura para abajo. Mantenemos la esperanza, pero sabemos que será un camino largo y difícil de rehabilitación intensiva y terapia.

Si conoces a mi hermano, has sentido la profundidad de su amistad, su bondad y su generosidad sin límites. Es una persona apasionada por la vida, las artes y vivir plenamente. Ya sea que lo conozcas, hayas oído hablar de él o conozcas su música, te pedimos que lo tengas en tus pensamientos mientras enfrenta este momento muy difícil.
