Support Joe's Journey to New Lungs

Hello everyone! My name is Francesca Caruso Daniele and my father, Joe Caruso, is about to face his biggest challenge yet-- a double lung transplant.

Anyone who has had the joy of knowing my dad knows that he is utterly selfless; whenever he sees a need, he jumps at the opportunity to help in whatever way that he can. From helping people with any remodeling or construction work that needs to be done around their homes to opening his own home to people for a good meal or even a place to stay, he helps without question. Now, he is the one who could use a helping hand.

Currently, my dad is in the evaluation process and we are hoping that he is put on the list in the next few weeks. With the transplant in NY comes many additional expenses beyond just the medical. We will need to ensure that we have a place to stay near the hospital while my dad is in surgery and then in the first couple of weeks after surgery (4-6 total weeks). The cost of living in NYC is expensive, and we will need to ensure that my stepmother will be able to cover food, transportation, etc. while living in the city. Once my father is able to return home, he will have to continue visiting the hospital in NY for frequent follow ups over the course of the first year, so we will need to cover the travel expenses. We also want to purchase a recliner for daddy to have when he returns home so that he can lounge more comfortably post-surgery.

During this whole process, my dad won't be able to work, so any extra money raised will help alleviate the financial burden that will come with covering his cost of living while he is unable to work.
