Hi, Nick and Alli here! If you’re reading this, you probably already follow along on our crazy journey and our dog rescue mission, Expedition Ola If you’ve been with us for a while, you know we’ve been searching for a new (used) camper. One that will finally allow us to continue and expand this mission the way we originally dreamed.

When we first hit the road, we never planned to stay in Baja for this long. Our goal has always been to travel across borders, reach more countries, and share the message of rescue, compassion, and the power of love with communities far and wide. But with our current camper, that just hasn't been possible. We’ve been waiting patiently for the right opportunity, and now it’s finally here. We found the perfect camper for our Rescue Rig! The owner has been kind enough to hold it for us until we can make it happen.

So why this camper? In short: safety and reliability.

* Our current camper is simply too tall and too heavy. The new one reduces our height by more than 3 feet, which is crucial for traveling in mainland Mexico and Central America, where low power lines and overgrown vegetation can make driving dangerous.

* This camper is practically new and far more reliable, giving us the confidence to travel farther from the border without constant breakdowns or repairs.

* It’s lighter, meaning less strain on our truck and fewer mechanical issues.

* Most importantly, it will allow us to reach harder-to-access communities where street dog populations are greatest. Places we wouldn't be able to access otherwise.

This isn’t just a weekend rig. It’s our full-time home, our mobile dog rescue, and the first safe place these dogs will ever know. With this camper, we’ll be able to rescue more dogs, connect with more communities, keep this mission alive for years to come and stay safe doing it. We are extremely frugal people so it feels crazy to even think about spending this kind of money but we found an incredible (and rare) deal. We know with certainty this is the camper that can carry Expedition Ola forward.

So many of you have asked how you can help us get a new rig, and it blows our minds that you want to support us in this way. That’s why we created this separate GoFundMe just for the camper. Our rescue mission funds will always go directly to keeping the mission alive and helping dogs, even if that means limping along in our old broken camper. But this fundraiser is different. Every single dollar here goes toward giving us the reliable rig we need to travel further, rescue more, and spread hope wider than ever before!
