Hi, I’m Evlena. I’m a self-employed Reiki practitioner who co-creates a creative community space and gift shop with my sister here in Buffalo. We opened our brick-and-mortar storefront in March, and like many new small businesses, we’re still finding our footing.
My work is rooted in care, connection, and supporting others, and reaching out like this doesn’t come easily for me. Right now, though, I’m dealing with vehicle repairs that are necessary for my safety, which has been incredibly stressful.
Over the past several months, my vehicle has become increasingly unsafe to drive. Exhaust fumes have been leaking into the cabin, causing headaches and nausea. My tires are worn and lose air every few days, making it difficult to stop safely—I’ve nearly hit other cars while pulling into parking spaces. The windshield washer fluid lines also aren’t working, which makes it hard to maintain visibility during winter driving.
My vehicle is essential to my livelihood and the work I do. Since transitioning fully into self-employment and opening a new storefront, I don’t have the financial buffer to absorb these repair costs all at once. These issues can’t be put off any longer, and addressing them is necessary for my safety and the safety of others on the road.
The estimated cost for repairs—including the exhaust, tires, and windshield washer fluid lines—is $1,000+.
If you’re able to contribute or share this fundraiser, I’m deeply grateful. Thank you for helping me work toward a safer and more reliable situation.
