Hello everyone, my name is Evgenii (Евгений) or Eugene for easier pronunciation . I found about this place from my friend and he told me I should definitely try to get help here. I was born and raised in Russia , but when the war in Ukraine started I came to the United States .I was naive and did not know a lot about Politics until it affected me . I was drafted and officers came to my apartment to make me sign papers , I said that I am not going to go to the war against brotherly country , my grandpa's parents also was from Ukraine and him and my grandma went to visit his relatives there before the war . I said I do not support this war created by tyrannical and cruel Putin's regime and I am not gonna be involved in harming and invading territories of innocent people .Immediately i was pulled out of my apartment and pushed down the stairs. My apartment was on the second floor. While falling I got hit by the handrailing then the stairs and then struck the cement window ledge with my head. I became unconscious for a unknow length of time. I recovered enough to hear " Sign this or we will come back, do you get it?" It all happened really fast, but my head was hurting so bad it was hard to see or hear. I feared for my life like never before. I thought for a moment that I can lose it for good. I could not comprehend cause it all happened so quickly. All my thoughts were about fear while suffering intense pain throughout my body and especially my head. I don't know exactly how long I lay trying to figure out what happened. Finally, all the pieces came together and I realized it was time for me to leave Russia or be killed by this murderers regime. I can't remember what was happening while I was unconscious. I was not aware of the blood on my face, arm and the t-shirt until I looked in the mirror. I collected my thoughts. I finally got up, my head was spinning and I went to my apartment. Only after I reached my door, I started to understand my thoughts. When I saw how badly hurt I was, I called my friend, she is a doctor ,to ask for help. After all that happened , I didn't have much time to figure out how to leave Russia .I had some money saved from job i was working at and asked my parents and best friends to support me with the rest to buy tickets on a plane and leave the country as quick as possible . So within 2 weeks period i made a plan how I am gonna come to America to ask for asylum here( for couple reasons 1st I was a student back in 2019 and came here for a summer for work and travel exchange program and discovered how many good people were here and how i was treated with respect and compassion and 2nd United states were always number 1 country for me where you can express yourself freely and safely), bought tickets to Turkey and flew there to wait for price of tickets to Columbia and Mexico would go lower cause at the moment prices were so high cause everybody was leaving country for similar reasons .I came to USA after couple more weeks and was detained in Lousiana waiting for documents to be released and since then 2 years pass by. I was working physical labor jobs for cash cause didnt have social security and authorization for work .I tried to defend myself at the court but judge told me i need to find a lawyer to defend me in my hearing .I recently got work permit card and found a job at Thrift store where I am living now. I have a master hearing on November 24th and I am simply not able to pay to a lawyer for him to start working with me and defend me in November .I found Russian speaking lawyer who is specialized on the cases like mine and he is ready to start working with me once I pay deposit of $2000 . His whole fee is $8000 for the whole procedure and he said i would be able to pay by parts starting with $2000 .I sincerely ask anyone who could help me with any amount, I would be so grateful and would pay it forward to the next suffering person who would need my help.
