From the bottom of our hearts, thank you for taking a moment to read Everett's story.

Everett Jose Singleton recently turned 19 years old. He is full of light, and loved deeply by everyone who knows him. He has spent the past 9 months in ICU and hospital care after a sudden medical crisis turned his world upside down.

Everett has always been the one to give. He was the teammate who showed up, the grandson who made our Nana Rose call him “Happy Boy,” the young man who never complained and was always the first to lend a hand. Now, it is Everett who needs us. And it is our turn to rally around him.

Everett’s Story:
Everett Jose Singleton is a proud 2024 graduate of Father Dueñas Memorial High School in Guam, where he was a team player in football and rugby, a member of Guardians of the Reefs, and active in Campus Ministry. He is known for his kind spirit on and off the field.

In December 2024, while traveling with his family for the holidays, Everett suffered a sudden medical crisis during a layover in Japan. He was rushed to the Japanese Red Cross Hospital, where he was admitted into ICU and spent 5 months fighting for his life and undergoing multiple procedures and surgeries.

Doctors explained Everett has an antimicrobial infection that is difficult and dangerous to treat. They continue to monitor his condition closely. The extensive time spent in ICU left him bed bound with severe muscle loss. Everett cannot walk, talk, or swallow on his own. He must be lifted from his bed for even the smallest movement and requires assistance with every aspect of daily life. He continues to battle the infection, and while progress is slow, his doctors believe his strength and mobility can return with the right care.

In May 2025, Everett was medically transported from Japan to Brooke Army Medical Center in San Antonio, Texas. Since then, he has been moved between multiple facilities, as hospitals are not equipped for long-term recovery. His condition is complex and requires specialized equipment and round-the-clock care. As much as the family longs to bring him home to Guam, the level of care he requires is not available there and the long-distance travel would put his health at serious risk.

The family’s temporary housing at Ronald McDonald House is no longer an option, as it cannot provide the medical bed, lifting equipment, and support Everett requires. Assisted living centers also cannot meet his level of care. A compliant home is the bridge to Everett’s next chapter of healing, the place where hope and progress can finally begin.

Why We’re Asking for Help:
The only safe path forward is to move Everett into a compliant home in the mainland with the specialized equipment and round-the-clock support he needs.

The goal of $75,000 will provide:
• Safe transition out of the hospital with immediate medical transport. Including long term accessible transportation that meets ADA standards.
• Secure housing outfitted for Everett’s needs, including a specialized medical bed and mobility chair.
• Access to consistent in-home therapies focused on rebuilding his strength and mobility.
• Long-term stability through permanent medical equipment and a compliant home where Everett can continue recovery with dignity, safety, and family by his side.

How You Can Help:
Every donation is part of this bigger picture. Whether it helps cover a piece of equipment, a month of care, or simply moves us closer to the next milestone, your support matters.

Donate if you are able. Share this page widely so Everett’s story reaches more hearts. Keep Everett and his family in your thoughts and prayers as they face this long road to healing.
