As some of you may know, Evelyn had an exciting entry into the world on May 2nd at 41 weeks old. She was having multiple seizures that caused her to be sent to the NICU for cooling, testing, and healing. She was cooled for 3 days to help bring down the swelling in her brain.
She was sent home, only to begin vomiting consistently for 2 weeks. This sent her back to be admitted in the hospital due to not gaining weight. They found she had Subcutaneous Fat Necrosis from the cooling during the first few days of her life. Due to this, her body is harboring calcium at dangerous levels.
She is in treatment at Vanderbilt currently trying to find a combination of medicine, fluids, and milk that keeps the calcium in her body at a safe level. There is still a long journey of healing and growth needed for Evelyn to eat by mouth along with a potential surgery for a g-tube in her future.
With all the unknowns, funds would be used for traveling back and forth from Nashville to Cookeville, time off work to be able to be present and advocate for her, and food while in the hospital. Let’s come together and help offset some of these expenses for Cole and Leslie so they can just focus on making sure Evelyn gets better!
