Support Evelyn's Journey to Authenticity

Hello, my name is Evelyn and I am fundraising to help me along with my transition. During the quarantine portion of the pandemic, I realized my true authentic self. I was a trans woman. After some time I sought out my primary care doctor and started the steps to get on HRT. I was in my PhD program at the time and I also was teaching and assistant directing. It was a lot. Eventually, I got on HRT and started on my path to getting better health-wise. Mainly mental health. Well, my life kind of took off and it went into a spiral. I ended up having to leave my PhD and focus on myself. So I took a job being an assistant at a non-profit for the university. I took a drastic pay cut but I was able to focus on my health and try to get on more, solid footing.

I have now been on HRT for 3 years. And I am currently at some crossed roads due to lack of funds. I do not have a lot of gender-affirming clothing. My wardrobe consists of about 5 outfits. I have not been able to get a haircut, buy shoes, or even start my electrolysis/ hair removal. I work in a business casual atmosphere and I have been told that my dress needs to get better. They have been nothing but understanding for the past year or so but I know that my fashion is a problem. I have tried to find better-paying jobs but to no avail. So I am desperate to start some more of these steps in my journey. To have a working wardrobe that reflects my authentic self would really help with consistent living in dysphoria, being able to get a haircut and start my hair removal process would also be a large boon for me. I have tried to penny-pinch and have tried to do the best I can, but with student loans among also paying rent by myself, I do not have the means to start or tackle these barriers I have been feeling.

The funds will be used to get a working gender-affirming wardrobe that will allow me to feel more confident at work and in interviews. But also clothing that will allow me to freely express my authenticity in all aspects of life. I will also use the funds to start my laser hair removal for my face and finally be able to get a haircut. I have taken the steps to feel like my authentic self and I just need help getting me to express that and see that physically.
