Hello family, friends, and other generous and caring individuals. My name is Brandon and I'm trying to raise money to help my very special and beloved mom Evelyn through a very difficult time in her life. Not long ago she was diagnosed with liver cancer. After a series of procedures, it became known that the cancer was aggressive and she required a liver transplant ASAP so that the cancer wouldn't spread. After an extremely stressful wait, and few potential liver donators that fell through, she finally received her transplant mid-January.

While we are so grateful and feel blessed that the transplant has been a success so far, we still face a very difficult time ahead. My mother Evelyn won't be able to work at her job at the school for at least a year, and I am trying to keep up financially to support us. After using up my savings, we are now going to be falling short on rent and necessities, since our rent and the cost of living exceeds what I earn teaching at the school. I'm unable to work additional jobs at this time, since Evelyn requires constant home care and support including medicine upkeep, doctor calls and visits, daily help with hygiene and incision dressing, etc.

I was recently made aware that my job position does not yet have the funding to keep my position permanently, but I'd like to be clear, I absolutely plan to continue working and supporting my mom as best as I can, and if my job is lost, I will immediately search for another position in the school or a new job if need be. With this in mind though, I have a donation goal of $7,200 ($600/mo) which combined with Evelyn's monthly disability (unfortunately much lower than expected), will specifically go to covering the balance of rent for the full year that she will be unable to work, to make sure our home isn’t lost. Any additional support beyond our goal if we reach it, will go directly toward other necessities such as food, travel to and from the weekly doctor visits, etc. Every dollar, prayer, and kind word counts.
