Support Evelyn Doran After Unjust Loss

My name is Patrick Doran.

I’m creating this GoFundMe for my mother, Evelyn Doran.

She is a 73-year-old woman who just had everything she worked her entire life for taken away from her.

At the time of writing this, we were just informed by legal counsel that she has lost the home she invested her entire retirement into.

How did this happen?

The house was sold by her daughter Shannon Doran, my sister, to a broker, after a verbal agreement between the two of them stating that she would sign ownership of the house back to my mother after the mortgage was paid.

My mother purchased, paid for, and maintained the taxes on the home, as per the agreement, while Shannon was to be the title holder in name only.

Desperate for money, and with no regard for our mother’s well-being, she sold the house for well below market value ($40,000 for a property worth $180,000), took the money, and disappeared.

My mother is a social security recipient.

She has no other income.

To be able to pay rent in today’s economy, or to buy a new house is practically impossible for her.

For a child to do something like this to their own parent is absolutely horrid, for lack of a better term.

For anyone that sees this upon its creation, I hope you never have to experience or endure something like this.

My mother is absolutely, and understandably, devastated.

She has literally just spent the last 30 minutes crying in the kitchen, inconsolable.

She’s hurt.

She feels betrayed.

And every avenue we have gone down in an attempt to help her keep her house has led to nothing.

This is the only road I have left to travel in terms of helping her.

The goal is to help her both in a down payment for a new home, and to take legal action against the heinous act that has brought her to this situation.
