Support Eva's Journey to Healing and Rehab

Last Friday, our amazing mom, Eva, was found on the floor of her bedroom. The doctors determined she had a stroke sometime during the night. We are unsure of how long she had been down for, but are estimating it was around 6-7 hours. She was rushed to the hospital and then transferred to Lutheran General Hospital. She is currently in the Nuero Critical Care Unit. Her team of doctors are unsure of how the stroke happened, and a battery of tests have begun. Yesterday, because she did not pass a swallow test, they have now had to put in a feeding tube. We are hoping she is moved out of the ICU soon, but her oxygen levels are still too low and a pneumonia has set in. Her wrist is also broken from her fall and surgery is most likely going to be needed. This is all a devastating blow to our family. The road ahead is going to be very long with months of rehab and therapy. Eva is the sole provider for her herself, having worked at Brilliance Honda for over 25 years. She does however, work on commission, so if she isn’t there, there is no paycheck. Between the medical bills and the time off of work, we want to help lessen the burden of that stress so our mom can focus on healing and getting back to her kids and grandkids who she loves so very much and who need her more than ever. Anyone who knows Eva, knows that she is the kindest and most giving person you will ever meet. She’s the first one to go out of her way for you, the first one to call, the first one to show up for you. We just want to show her how important she is to all of us!
