Help Save Ubu – Emergency Surgery for a Flipped Stomach (GDV)

Hi everyone,

I’m reaching out in one of the hardest moments of my life. Tonight, my sweet dog Ubu suddenly became very sick. He started dry heaving, his stomach turned hard, and I knew something was horribly wrong. I rushed him to the emergency vet, and within hours he was in surgery for Gastric Dilatation-Volvulus (GDV) — a flipped stomach. Without immediate treatment, this condition is fatal.

Hopefully, I got him there in time. He’s in surgery now, and I’m doing everything I can to fight alongside him. But the cost of this emergency hit me like a freight train.

I had no choice but to put the entire surgery on a CareCredit card — and I honestly don’t know how I’m going to make the payments. My parents are helping what they can, but this is far bigger than what I can carry alone.

Ubu isn’t “just a pet.” He’s my best friend, my shadow, my heart.

I’ve had him since he was 5 months old, found wandering alone in the country — now he’s 11 years old, loyal and gentle to the core. Everyone who meets him falls in love.

He’s been by my side through everything — and when it came time for me to be there for him, I had to act. I couldn’t let him die just because I couldn’t afford to save him.

I’m still waiting to find out how the surgery went. I’ll keep this page updated as soon as I know more.
