Support Evan Morse's Road to Recovery
Donation protected
My nephew, Evan Morse, was in a motorcycle accident on Halloween on his way to a family party. A deer jumped out in front of him, and he was thrown about 60 feet from his bike. The ambulance and Lifestar responded. He was transported via Lifestar to the Trauma Center at Hartford Hospital and then to the Bone and Joint Center next to it.
We are so thankful he was wearing all his safety gear, which the doctors said saved his life. He suffered several serious injuries, including a broken leg (both his fibula and tibia), severe road burn, and a possible concussion among others. He had surgery on Friday the 1st, in which he had a titanium rod inserted into his tibia. Evan has a long road to recovery ahead, including hospitalization and extensive physical therapy. Doctors estimate his recovery will take a few months.
This accident has been devastating for the family. Evan and Emily recently welcomed their fourth child, Harvey, and Evan had used all his available time off work to help with Baby Harvey and Emily as she had complications and surgery as a result of childbirth.
He now faces a long period of recovery without any income. Evan is a loving husband and devoted father who works hard to provide for his family. He is now facing at least 8 weeks of unpaid leave from work, resulting in lost income and added stress with additional costs from the accident.
We're raising funds to help cover his medical expenses, rehabilitation costs, and lost wages while he is unable to work. Our initial fundraising goal is $12,000; however, any contribution, big or small, is greatly appreciated during this difficult time. Thank you for your support for Evan, Emily, Elliott, Adaline, Oliver, and Harvey.
Sincerely,
