Hello,

I am asking for community support to keep me afloat while I recover from surgery this fall.

I have two jobs that keep my bills paid. I am a tattoo artist at Holy Vault, which is a fixture in the queer diy tattoo community. I also work part-time as a peer support counselor. In that job, I support people in their recovery from mental health and addiction struggles. Both these jobs are meaningful and necessary in the world. I am so happy to do them.

Art and helping professions are not known for their compensation, and I have not been in a position to save money. If I am being real, I don’t expect that to change before surgery. So I have made a Gofundme, in hopes that my community can help me out.

My consult is scheduled for September with my surgery date to follow in the late fall. I will continue to update this Gofundme with specific dates and keep transparency about where I am using the funds.

I would like to cover:

1) surgery costs

2) rent while I am out of work

3) food

Support from my community would mean the world to me.

This is not an emergency, so please only donate if you can easily spare the money. I have a robust social support network and family around as well.
