This is something I never thought I would ever have to say. My beautiful 7 year old daughter Evalett who is a pure and loving soul has been diagnosed with Acute Lymphoblastic Leukemia. What started with grandma’s concern about her skin color turned into a sequence of fast paced events in a matter of two weeks. She has been through multiple lab draws, IV accesses, a bone marrow biopsy, a blood transfusion, and now a port-a-cath surgery. She still has a lumbar puncture and to start her chemotherapy tomorrow. She will be in treatment at minimum for 2 years. She’s getting pulled out of school and her whole life is being turned upside down. It would be normal to be upset or feel down, but not this strong willed happy child. She has rolled with the punches better than anyone I’ve ever known. Literally every person she comes in contact with can’t help but love her personality. I believe she is full of faith and full of God’s love to show that he is still in the business of miracles. We just have to get my baby girl through these treatments, but unfortunately it means several hospital admissions and missed work. To make a hard situation a little harder I am 36 weeks pregnant and will be welcoming baby sister soon. All of the vacation time I have was just enough saved for my maternity leave. We are facing our current 2 week admission at minimum to start treatment and several more admissions/outpatient chemotherapy visits to come. I am asking for help with medical expenses for her treatment and some to supplement the income I won’t be making to be by her side. I’m not one to ever ask for help, but this is a time I truly need it. This economy isn’t the best and I realize that so even if it’s just a prayer for my girl’s healing I will forever be grateful.
