Support Eva Jean create her Artist Residency this February

HELLO! For anyone who is new here, I am an artist who has been tattooing professionally for just over 20 years. Before I began my journey in tattooing I was constantly exploring other artistic mediums, mostly watercolor painting.

Most of my clients and friends know me as Eva Jean. I LOVE what I do and know I am extremely lucky to have the life that I do where I am entrusted to bring my clients visions to life through the ancient art form of tattooing.

An artist residency is a dedicated and uninterrupted workspace provided to creatives with the intention of allowing time and space to produce.

I am creating this fundraiser in the hopes of accomplishing two very important ambitions:

1. To spend the month of February focusing solely on making new art. I can’t tell you how many people have asked me if I’ve been working on anything new, or if I have any designs of my own I’d be interested in tattooing! The answer is I wish! I would love to devote this time to creating new artwork + tattoo designs for current as well as future clients to be able to choose from.

As a business owner operating her own studio, it can be a challenge for me to muster the energy at times to sit down and access my own thoughts and ideas after holding space, working under the direction of others.

2. Burnout recovery. I am aware that this is not a unique or special thing happening in the world right now for just me. However it is happening to me and being transparent about it is nothing to be ashamed of. My sessions with clients are very rewarding and special where they often times do share things with me that they might not feel like they can open up to others about. It is a privilege for me to be a safe space for my people and something I do not take it lightly!

Couple this with the physical demands that my love of tattooing brings, running admin, shop keeping, and coming up with designing for my clients, and the consideration of life responsibilities outside of working; I'd just really love some time to make art and rest.

Of course all progress would be documented and shared and at the end of it all I’d have some new original works for tattoos, prints and other media to share.
