A fire broke out in the early morning hours at a house located at 2309 Withers Road, Myrtle Beach S.C. The occupants Eva & Karyn Barber were in their bedrooms asleep at the time the fire started,... from preliminary indications the fire broke out on the outside deck of the house; the cause is apparent arson; the fire engulfed the entire house. destroying all possession therein as well as burning to death 9 cats... The occupants (Karyn Barber- 53, and her elderly Mother Eva -83) of the house were taken by ambulance to the nearest Hospital (Grand Strand Hospital) for emergency treatment of smoke inhalation, heart palpitation and exhaustion. They have lost everything and are devastated by the loss of their beloved pets.
The Barber lost all of their possession in the fire, everything was burned and demolished; There is a desperate need of clothing; shelter; shoes; blankets; underwear; money; temporarily quarters to stay; beds, mattresses; transportation; toiletries; oxygen for Eva; transportation, communication i.e. cell phone and personal items.
The need is severe as there is no fire insurance on the house and the building debris is insurmountable, burned lumber, plumbing, clothes burned furniture; couches etc -. to remove all the materials within the dwelling, and outside will be costly, with an estimated costs of $100,000.00; -- both Barbers are physically disabled, have limited income and no savings. They are bewildered, depressed and lost over the tragedy.
As there is no fire insurance to help with whatever needs to be done there will be a need to have a crew of laborers help to clean up the mess; removal of the burned materials, clothing, washing machine dryer, kitchen appliances stove, refrigerator all needs to be transported and removed to a landfill...The Barbers cannot do this task alone, help is urgently needed..
