Hi everyone! My name is Ethan Humphrey, and I am a sophomore studying Animal Science at the illustrious North Carolina A&T State University. My long-term goal is to become a mixed practice veterinarian, working across small animals, large animals, and wildlife.
Recently, I was given the opportunity to participate in a two-week study abroad internship in Athens, Greece. During this program, I will complete over 40 hours each week working directly alongside licensed veterinarians. I’ll be assisting with clinical procedures, observing diagnostics and treatment plans, and gaining hands-on experience with a variety of animals. This opportunity will allow me to expand my knowledge of global veterinary practices while strengthening the skills I’ll need for my future career.
This experience is especially meaningful to me because studying abroad has always been one of my goals, and this program combines both my passion for veterinary medicine and my interest in global learning. I was fortunate to receive a scholarship that helped reduce the cost of the program, but there is still a financial gap I am working hard to cover.
So far, I have saved $3,195, which will go toward my program fees and part of my flight. I am currently raising $2,000 to help cover the remaining cost of my round-trip flight, housing during my stay in Athens, and incidentals. I am actively working and saving, but my remaining payments are due by the end of this month.
Any support, whether through donations or simply sharing this, would mean so much to me as I take this important step toward my career. Thank you all for your encouragement and support!!
