I’ve known Ethan Trammell since second grade, and I can say without hesitation that he is one of the most genuine, kind-hearted people I know. Ethan has always shown up for others with compassion, generosity, and a willingness to help however he can. His family has extended that same warmth and kindness to me over the years.
Recently, Ethan's family has been hit with devastating news.
On Monday, April 6th, Ethan’s 12 year old great-niece, Laiila, was involved in a horrific car accident that tragically took the life of her father. Laiila suffered multiple severe injuries, including traumatic brain damage. She is currently receiving critical care at the Children’s Hospital in Denver.
Just one week after Laiila’s accident, Ethan’s mother, Debbie, was flown to Denver after receiving more devastating news. Debbie was originally diagnosed with stage 4 ovarian cancer in February 2024. She bravely endured chemotherapy and surgery throughout 2024 and was declared cancer-free. On Monday, April 13th, doctors discovered two tumors on her brain and a mass on her adrenal gland. Debbie will begin radiation therapy on Friday and must remain in Denver for two weeks during her brain radiation treatment. After that, she will need to travel back and forth from Cortez to Grand Junction to continue the remainder of her treatment.
Debbie is currently hospitalized right across the street from Laiila. Ethan and his sister, Leslie, are now splitting their time between two hospitals, supporting their family.
With two loved ones facing life-altering medical battles at the same time, Ethan is staying in Denver to be present for them both. This means extended time away from work, significant travel, and overwhelming medical-related expenses.
I'm starting this fundraiser to help ease some of that financial burden so Ethan can focus on what matters most, being there for his family. If you're able to give, any amount truly helps and is deeply appreciated.
Ethan and his family have always been there for others, including me. Now it’s our turn to show up for them.
Please consider donating and keeping Ethan, Debbie, Laiila, and their entire family in your thoughts and prayers.
Thank you so much.
