Support Ethan Luke's Road to Recovery

August 28th - UPDATE:
Ethan has been home from the hospital 10 days and everyday he continues to make great progress. Ethan may look like he's doing okay on the outside (minus his cute black eye). He might seem physically normal—but it's a traumatic brain injury with a fractured skull. The brain is still healing, and that process takes time. His brain is very sensitive right now. It's a fine line between activating the brain but not over stimulating the brain so you don't slow down his recovery or cause setbacks. He sleeps a good 10 + hours right night and we try for one good nap a day. It’s a delicate balance between letting him heal and supporting his gradual return to normal activities. He attend physical therapy, speech therapy and occupational therapy. He's also doing a treatment called FSM.

I'm sharing on behalf of my best friend Christi and her sweet family in Boise, Idaho.

Dear Friends and Supporters,
Our son, Ethan Luke, suffered a traumatic brain injury after he fell off his bike on Sunday, August, 12th. We had no plans to go to the bike park; we were riding on the Boise Greenbelt but decided to make a stop along the way. Ethan wasn't attempting anything dangerous. It seems that his front tire hit a rut in the ground, which caused him to take a hard fall. He was unconscious and was taken via ambulance to the Emergency Room. After 24 hours in a medical coma and six nights in the hospital, we are beyond grateful Ethan is okay. He has been making steady progress, but his journey to full recovery is far from over. Eventually Ethan will start school, but right now his body is resting, recovering and his brain cannot be overstimulated. He is in a few different types of outpatient therapies and starting a treatment called FSM. Ethan is a strong, resilient 12 year-old boy who loves life and looks forward to the day he can start his first day of Jr. High and play baseball again. Any contribution, whether financial or by simply sharing Ethan's story, would mean the world to us. Your contribution will help cover the financial strain of the hospital stay and the FSM treatments that we hope will provide Ethan the best chance at a full recovery. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts for your kindness and generosity. Any support is greatly appreciated!

With gratitude,
The Luke Family

Also, If you are curious about FSM - (Frequency-Specific Microcurrent) is a treatment that uses low-level electrical currents to reduce pain and inflammation, promoting healing in his body.
