HELLO! My name is Ester. I am almost 2 years old. When I was born, I was born with ARTIMS-SCIDS, which means I had NO immune system. I was born without T or B cells… TALK about scary!… I was only 2 weeks old when my mom & dad got the news… WE had to make a plan and fast my life was on the line. NEXT thing I knew, I was having surgery to have my 1st central line placed. I don’t remember much because I was so little… WELL, after my surgery a couple of days go by & BOOM next thing I know we WE’RE being medivac out of NM to SAN FRANCISCO, California FOR gene therapy which is a bone marrow transplant! We have to fly out every 3 months for check-ups…. So far I'm growing my new immune system NOT very fast but we see T & B cells growth.
