Welcome and thank you so much for visiting my medical school scholarship fund! My name is Estelle Burkhardt, and I just completed my first semester of medical school with honors on the journey toward becoming a physician. Growing up in a rural, low-income, medically underserved community in Northern California inspired me to pursue medicine because I have seen the impact of truly compassionate care and what happens when there are not enough people to provide it.

This fundraiser supports both the direct and indirect costs of medical school. Every contribution, no matter the size, brings me one step closer to this goal. My direct costs are approximately $81,011 per year and include tuition, program fees, malpractice insurance, and health insurance. This is a tremendous financial investment, and any support truly means a great deal. My indirect costs include housing, food, transportation, books, medical equipment, technology, loan fees, and other basic living expenses. Contributions here help make daily life in medical school manageable, fun and let me be a person while I focus on learning.
