On July 22nd, Estela Cruz, a beloved member of our Goldberg clinic community, suddenly lost her job. Though many of us understand the financial hardships that the healthcare industry and pediatric providers are facing, it has been heartbreaking to witness the personal toll that staffing cuts can take on a person individually. Estela loyally served our organization for over 35 years. She was warm and welcoming to patients and staff alike, and helped navigate the numerous transitions that occurred over the past few decades. Her service was cut short for reasons completely outside of her control. She describes feeling “in shock.” As she navigates this challenging time, we hope to ease her financial burden.
