Hi, my name is Zoriah. I was born in May Pen, Clarendon, partly raised in Joe Hut, Trelawny, Jamaica and I am currently living in New York. Most of you may have known by now about Melissa, a Category 5 hurricane that devastated western Jamaica on October 28. Three days after the hurricane, I got a chance to speak to my mother briefly, and I was disheartened by her explanation of what took place in her community (Joe Hut, Trelawny). Some of the people I grew up with have lost their roofs, some their homes, and some roads are impassable by motor vehicles.

I intend to ship a few barrels of clothes, shoes, food, and other essential items to those in Joe Hut who are in need, and I would appreciate any assistance with doing so. Monies will be spent on non-perishable foods and other essential items. I am also accepting physical items that anyone would like to donate
