Support Esmeralda and Xavier After Ron's Passing

On April 21, 2025 our community suffered a heartbreaking and unexpected loss. Ron Hubbard — beloved son, partner, father, and friend — passed away suddenly in his sleep from a heart attack.

Just the day before, he was celebrating Easter with family, laughing and making memories as he always did. There were no warning signs. No time to prepare.

Ron was the definition of community — a proud San Diego native, a true "local," and the heart behind The Local Downtown where he made everyone feel like family. But his proudest and most important role was at home — as a devoted partner to Esmeralda and a loving father to their 11-year-old son, Xavier.

Ron gave everything he had to his family — not just his heart, but his steady support and hard work. With his passing, Esmeralda now faces unimaginable emotional and financial challenges, all while continuing to raise their son and build a future for him. As a dedicated teacher, she has always given so much to others — and now, she needs our help.

We’ve created this GoFundMe to ease the burden and rally around Ron’s greatest legacy: his family. Our goal is to raise $50,000 to help cover immediate expenses and provide continued support for Xavier’s future.
