Support Errol Tate After Losing Everything in the Eaton Fire

My name is Brenna, and my mom Shannon Bell and I are starting this fund on behalf of my grandpa, Errol Tate (my moms father in-law).

On January 8th, my family received heartbreaking news: my grandparents lost their home, along with everything inside, in the devastating Eaton fire. For 58 years, this house was the heart of our family. It was where my grandparents raised their two children, where my cousins, siblings, and I grew up visiting and creating memories.

Sadly, in the past two years, my family has already faced the painful loss of both my grandma and my aunt. After my aunt’s passing, my younger cousin, Nani, moved in with my grandpa to help care for him. Now, both my grandpa and cousin have lost everything—not just their home, but also everything that remained of my grandma and aunt. Their two vehicles, my grandma's car, my aunt's vehicle, and even their motorhome—all destroyed in the fire.

As if this loss wasn’t enough, my grandpa, who is on home dialysis, lost all of his medical equipment in the fire. With little time to evacuate, my grandpa and cousin fled with only the clothes on their backs. During the evacuation, my grandpa fell and fractured three ribs. He is currently in the hospital, recovering from the fall and waiting for dialysis treatment.

For those of you who knew my grandparents, you know that they were among the kindest, most generous people. They gave without ever asking for anything in return. Now, in this incredibly difficult time, I’m reaching out on behalf of my grandpa and cousin for help. My grandpa has lost the home where my grandma passed away, and with it, precious memories of her. He is grieving yet again, and I want to help him find some peace as he begins to rebuild his life.
